The Operations Risk Compliance team enables Amazon worldwide to conduct compliant and safe operations at scale. The team automates manual classification processes through technical solutions that rely heavily on machine learning models. We collaborate closely with business, operations, and tech teams globally to deliver complex, ambitious roadmaps with customer goals in mind. We leverage data sciences, information processing, machine learning, and generative AI to enhance user experience, automation, service resilience, and operational efficiency. Our work expands AI-driven capabilities within our Retail businesses.
We are seeking a successful Software Development Manager to lead efforts in automating the classification of our entire worldwide selection within regulatory classes. The manager will work with stakeholders from multiple business units to gather requirements and develop and deploy next-generation classification models.
The Software Development Manager will lead a team comprising Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, and Applied Scientists, and will be the primary owner of high-impact machine learning solutions under development. This is a greenfield project, with solutions still to be built. The business problems present scientific and engineering challenges, from research to high-throughput inference constraints. Successful execution will have a significant financial impact, potentially counting in hundreds of millions of dollars.
Beyond strong engineering and business knowledge, candidates should have exceptional managerial and communication skills to lead a high-performing cross-functional team to greater success.
