About your team

The Portfolio Service Group, Fixed Income (PSG FI), is a London-based team within Investment Management Operations. The team collaborates closely with other PSG teams and Fixed Income Investment Professionals in London, Hong Kong, and Toronto.

About your role

The Fixed Income portfolio managers and the global trading capability are supported by PSG FI Analysts in London, Hong Kong, and Toronto. The team aims to enhance the capacity of portfolio managers and improve control, scale, efficiency, and consistency of the investment process. The team actively contributes to and implements ideas for improving and redesigning the investment process and trade flows, often representing the Fixed Income Investment Management function to other areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implementation of investment decisions - generate orders for multiple funds across various types of bonds, derivatives, and FX, considering cash, investment guidelines, benchmarks, and fund sizes.
  2. Monitor and resolve pre-trade compliance alerts.
  3. Cash Management - monitor cash positions and cash flows.
  4. Monitor portfolio exposures and ensure consistency of strategy across portfolios.
  5. Data reconciliation and validation.
  6. Assist with and guide fund transitions, launches, and closures.
  7. Represent the Fixed Income team on projects and initiatives.
  8. Support ad hoc queries as needed.
  9. Participate in IT infrastructure programs as a subject matter expert for PSG FI.

About you

The successful candidate should have experience supporting investment professionals, with a broad understanding of Fixed Income markets, portfolio construction, and trade implementation with relevant operational and compliance controls.

Essential Skills:

  1. Ability to work accurately under pressure with tight deadlines.
  2. Strong collaboration skills, especially with Portfolio Managers and Investment Professionals.
  3. Ability to work within a small team, as part of the broader Fixed Income team, and with global colleagues.
  4. Capability to represent the team and department as a technical specialist.
  5. Analytical skills to review processes and implement improvements.
  6. Numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  7. Ideally IMC or CFA Level 1 qualification.
