Private Equity Compliance & Regulatory Management Manager

The opportunity

EY collaborates with some of the world's largest Private Equity funds, supporting asset acquisition, transformation, and sale. Many UK & EMEIA headquartered funds must adhere to SEC Independence restrictions, requiring EY to proactively monitor and manage all engagements to ensure compliance with SEC, EU PIE, UK PIE/OEPI, and EY independence standards.

This role offers significant scope to improve and optimize processes.

Your key responsibilities

1. Oversee EY's GIS updates and maintenance, ensuring timely processing of requests and addressing queries from GDS, account teams, and independence leaders.
2. Conduct initial reviews of Quarterly Independence Summary Memos and supporting documents, collaborating with the Independence Senior Associate and GDS to ensure timely responses from engagement partners globally.
3. Support PACE questionnaire responses for engagement teams.
4. Monitor press and industry announcements related to acquisitions and disposals across focus accounts.
5. Establish appropriate account structures to meet regulatory requirements.
6. Maintain documentation and promote independence procedures within Private Equity.
7. Coordinate with the PE Independence & Compliance Senior Manager on complex regulatory issues and resolutions.
8. Ensure indicators are set for investees with US-listed instruments and reflect appropriate channels.
9. Collaborate with US counterparts to share best practices and improve processes.
10. Perform checks such as revenues vs. SOWs/PACEs, GFIS, and EL testing to ensure SEC compliance.
11. Follow up with overseas EY member firms regarding controlled entities, ensuring awareness and compliance.

Skills and attributes for success

Desired

• Qualified accountants or auditors with a strong understanding of independence principles.
• Experience in private equity or investment banking risk management/compliance (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
