Job Description:

The opportunity

This is a mixed private client role with an emphasis on compliance, offering advisory opportunities for those interested in this area.

The ideal candidate will be technically competent with experience in reviewing complex self-assessment tax returns.

The manager will also co-manage and coach the PCS team, supporting their development and handling assignments.

Your key responsibilities:

1. Manage, review, and sign off a portfolio of private client tax compliance and related services.
2. Build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, providing excellent service, identifying opportunities, and managing expectations.
3. Mentor and provide technical support to the team.
4. Assist senior team members with technical projects or advisory work as appropriate.
5. Participate in business development opportunities.
6. Manage billing effectively.

Skills and Experience required:

1. Relevant tax experience in a similar role.
2. Technical review skills for a portfolio of private client tax compliance and services.
3. Ability to manage client expectations with technical excellence and a practical approach.
4. Mentoring and technical guidance skills.
5. Strong planning, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
6. Ability to integrate quickly into new teams and build relationships.
7. Excellent relationship skills and client management capabilities.
8. Client-focused and commercially aware.
9. Strong technical skills with a desire to develop further.
10. Ability to identify risks and know when to escalate.

Qualifications:

• CTA preferred; or
• ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA with relevant tax experience; or
• Demonstrable managerial experience in a private client tax environment.
