Manager - Projects Finance, Power & Utilities

Base Location: London

The KPMG Power & Utilities function is a cornerstone of our Deal Advisory business. Operating from London, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

The Projects business focuses on designing new markets and advising on delivery models for major infrastructure projects and programmes. We advise companies, developers, bidders, and regulators on delivering major infrastructure assets and procurements. Projects include Hinkley Point C, Thames Tideway, DPC projects, OFTOs, SIPR, Cap and Floor Interconnectors, CATO, and NNPs, mainly across the UK and Europe.

This role involves integrating advisory services to identify opportunities, developing relationships in the sector, and working with KPMG Deal Advisory teams to structure utilities infrastructure offerings.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing engagement delivery daily;
  2. Managing internal teams and external advisors;
  3. Producing and reviewing high-quality client outputs;
  4. Developing sector-specific market intelligence in P&U;
  5. Coaching junior team members.

Requirements:

  1. Understanding key value drivers in infrastructure projects, including policy, regulation, market frameworks, financing, delivery, and operations;
  2. Experience advising on utility and infrastructure projects with strong client management skills;
  3. Ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively;
  4. Knowledge of UK water, energy, or nuclear regulatory arrangements;
  5. Understanding financial structures, especially project finance;
  6. Strong report writing, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Proactive attitude and opportunity-seeking mindset;
  2. Independent problem-solver;
  3. Financial modelling and analysis experience, including scenario modelling.
