Our client seeks a Manager (Policy and Legislation Specialist) to join their team to take appropriate steps to deal with Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CFP) policy matters.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist, technical advice and recommendations to support informed decision making by individual colleagues at all levels of seniority and relevant bodies
Attend relevant AML/CFT/CFP meetings both on the Island and elsewhere as necessary
Amend and update relevant legislation
Provide outreach to industry by organising and presenting at AML/CFT/CFP conferences and webinars as appropriate
Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal/external training programmes
Answer queries from regulated entities and internal staff in respect of AML/CFT/CFP
Work on special ad-hoc projects as identified
Ensure internal systems and procedures are adhered to
Key Skills & Experience
Hold, or be willing to work towards, a professional qualification relevant to the financial services industry.
Extensive relevant industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role.
Experience in the development of policy and working within multi-agency groups.
A good working knowledge of financial services, including designated businesses and associated legislation.
A well-developed knowledge of anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism and associated legislation.
Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information.
Ability to demonstrate strong people management skills.
Ability to assist in preparing and conducting meetings with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
