The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, delivering value for clients through innovative thinking, industry insights, and rigorous execution. Our team of over 105 specialists collaborates across KPMG’s Advisory services to enhance client value throughout the deal and economic cycle. We support clients from conceptual business acquisitions to turnaround strategies.
The People in M&A Centre of Excellence focuses on all aspects of the employee journey in M&A and transformational change outside of deals. This includes strategy development, organizational design for carve-outs, synergy analysis, employee experience, corporate culture, employee transfer, and designing transformational solutions to help organizations meet their goals. Our aim is to help clients execute transactions and change efficiently, maximizing value and ensuring smooth employee transitions.
The Manager role is central to project leadership and delivery, working closely with global organization leaders. While we work across sectors, there is an opportunity to specialize.
Our four key client proposition areas are:
• Employee experience: Managing engagement programs to address employee impacts, ensuring employees would choose to join the company independently of the deal.
• Organizational strategy development: Designing organization structures, people strategies, operating models, and value enhancements for carve-outs or standalone entities.
• Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR risks and obligations globally to meet deal timelines and integration plans.
• HR operations: Delivering HR services efficiently during and after deals to provide high service levels to employees.
Role Overview
In this role, you will lead projects alongside senior team members, gaining deal knowledge and developing your skills in HR, organizational development, and strategy. You will also apply your change and consulting skills to deliver transformational change outside of deal contexts.
Your responsibilities include:
The Person
Work experience in HR, OD, or Strategy, preferably within M&A environments. Knowledge of HR processes, employee engagement, TUPE, unions, organizational design, and talent management is beneficial. Experience in leading client meetings and teams, developing pitches, and influencing senior stakeholders is important. A curious, innovative mindset with professional judgment is essential.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree; professional qualifications are a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to ambiguity, and think creatively.
• Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver practical recommendations.
• Market awareness of HR and organizational trends.
