Job Title: Manager, Operational Risk
Role Overview: Lloyd’s seeks to recruit a Manager of Operational Risk to contribute to the development and execution of Lloyd’s risk framework. The role involves understanding and managing key risks, engaging strategically with functions responsible for operational risks, and providing oversight and challenge to risk exposures.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operate and enhance the framework to identify, assess, and monitor operational risks related to people, processes, systems, and external factors.
- Provide robust oversight and challenge to functions managing operational risks and recommend improvements to the control environment.
- Support strategic reviews of key risk areas and report findings to senior management.
- Assist in Lloyd’s response to regulatory engagement concerning operational risks, including resilience issues.
- Work with executive management to ensure operational resilience aligns with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Report regularly to management and governance forums, including the Risk Committee.
- Contribute to the delivery of Lloyd’s risk framework, including supporting the RCSA process.
- Liaise with stakeholders across Lloyd’s to gather, assess, and report risk information, including reviewing risk registers and risk appetites.
- Produce reports such as risk appetite dashboards, risk opinion papers, and ORSA reports.
- Respond promptly to requests from senior risk leadership for ad hoc projects.
- Support the broader Risk & Regulatory Function in managing risks and issues, engaging with risk specialists across the business.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience in high-performing risk management teams.
- Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with complex stakeholders.
- Experience managing senior stakeholders, including challenging or unsupportive ones.
- Good understanding of risk management frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Knowledge of risk management principles.
- Understanding of the insurance industry and Lloyd’s market is beneficial.
- Knowledge of business operations, processes, and key risks, including people, process, and technology.
- Stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships.
