Job description

Manager of Volunteers at Fighting With Pride (FWP)

Nationwide role

REF: FWPMGRVOL

Remote worker (with travel to some activities across the UK)

Fixed Term Contract for 3 years. Annual salary of GBP30,833 pro rata

Hours commencing at 0.6 FTE for the first year, 0.5 FTE for the second year and 0.3 FTE for the third year. These hours are in line with the grant funding.

Fighting With Pride (FWP) is looking for an outstanding Manager of Volunteers. For a fixed term contract of 3 years, this new, exciting, rewarding and fundamental role will make a real difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families, around the UK. You will be working as part of a dynamic team of LGBTQ+ Veteran Community Workers (VCW) and a LGBTQ+ VCW Team Manager and will report to the Chief Executive.

FWP was formed in January 2020 to support LGBTQ+ Veterans, serving personnel and their families and is a registered charity, founded by Caroline Paige and Craig Jones, now led by Peter Gibson and overseen by a dynamic and experienced Board of Trustees.

The purpose of the role is to develop a strategy and clear framework for volunteers at FWP. You will then recruit, train, manage, support and retain volunteers, ensuring the volunteer activities align with the charity's goals and values. This role will enable the charity to deliver events, initiatives and projects effectively through meaningful volunteer engagement.

If you have previous demonstrable experience of effectively managing volunteers and helping people, an understanding of LGBTQ+ Veterans (or other related experience), thrive working on your own initiative, and have experience in the charity and non-profit sector, we would like to hear from you.
