  • Retail

Why join KPMG as a Technology, Sustainability and Innovation Manager?

“TSI” (Technology, Sustainability and Innovation) is part of KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory team that was established on the back of sustained market growth. You’ll be joining one of the firm’s fastest growing areas at a time of real significance. The TSI team supports clients utilizing data, construction, and sustainability expertise to transform infrastructure and project delivery.

Our blend of areas works in unison, with data and technology increasingly seen as enablers to improve efficiency and productivity, while informing sustainability considerations, and innovation helping change infrastructure delivery. We help organisations deliver long-term resilience against ongoing risks such as climate change impacts, as well as short-term challenges such as cost pressures through innovative construction techniques.

You will work on some of the UK’s and Europe’s largest and most complex construction & infrastructure programmes, helping clients reduce their carbon footprint, improve capital delivery efficiency, and navigate new market entry across supply chains.

Within TSI, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy over your day. We generally have a flexible approach to office or client site visits, averaging 2-3 times a week as work needs dictate.

What you will be doing
  • Managing delivery of senior client-facing work within your area of expertise, with a focus on high-quality outputs and attention to detail.
  • Translating complex technical themes into simple, understandable presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Developing innovative solutions and challenging the team and clients to improve project outcomes.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in infrastructure sustainability and contributing to thought leadership.
  • Managing financial aspects of engagements, including budgeting, invoicing, and fee recovery.
  • Creating detailed and high-level plans across multiple workstreams.
  • Producing impactful presentation materials to communicate complex problems effectively.
  • Leading sustainability-related client work, ensuring quality and human-centered design.
  • Supporting business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and assisting with bids.
  • Mentoring colleagues and embodying company values.
What you will need to do it

We seek candidates with a proven track record in delivering sustainability initiatives within infrastructure projects. Your experience should include:

  • Advisory or delivery experience in infrastructure sustainability, either in consultancy, industry, or policy/regulatory roles.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, frameworks, and legislation (e.g., TCFD, CSRD, ISSB, TNFD, GRI, UK climate reporting, sector-specific regulations).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project, programme, or portfolio management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially with numerical data.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in software such as Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., APM, MoP, MSP, PRINCE2) and membership (e.g., IEMA).
Our TSI Team Pledge

We offer flexibility in work arrangements, including hybrid working, to support personal circumstances. We value diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds, prioritizing the right fit for the role over formal qualifications alone.

Our Locations

We are open to candidates across the UK, with core hubs in London (Canary Wharf), Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds. We support flexible, part-time, and remote working options.
