About the role:

Xperi is looking for a Manager to lead the Mobile Audio App Team that develops our suite of Mobile Audio Products. The successful candidate is a technologist with strong software development skills, natural leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. This is a remote role with occasional travel to London or other UK offices (Bangor, Northern Ireland).

The manager will lead and directly manage a remote team of talented audio developers based in the UK and Ireland. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a climate of innovation, proactive problem solving, and transparency
  • Providing mentoring and guidance
  • Promoting continuous improvement
  • Supporting team growth and development
  • Performance management
  • Regular in-person meetings to foster collaboration

They will also lead the development of each product owned by the team, ensuring:

  • Meeting all internal and external requirements
  • Maintaining product roadmaps
  • Frequent and on-time delivery
  • Agility in adapting plans
  • Balancing new features with technical debt
  • Supporting stable and consistent software products
  • Contributing as a hands-on developer

The role is suited to someone who:

  • Enjoys problem solving and analysis

Skills and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years in a C/C++ or C# programming role
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field

  • Experience in relevant fields such as audio, games, video, or imaging
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver user-facing applications
  • Technical communication skills (publications, presentations, open-source contributions)
  • Understanding of Scrum, agile development, build systems, automated testing, and continuous integration
  • Experience in cross-platform and mobile application development

Beneficial Skills:

  • Technology management certifications
  • Experience with Microsoft’s audio framework for Windows (Audio Processing Objects, WASAPI, SASAPI, MMDevice API)
  • Knowledge of C++17, .NET5 or above, Python, Jenkins or other CI/CD tools, UWP, Desktop Bridge, ZeroMQ, XML
