Role Overview

The Audit Manager of Market Data Compliance and Assurance plays a vital role in the global governance of CME’s commercial market data business. This role is responsible for executing market data audits across CME Group’s diverse customer base to ensure adherence to CME’s Market Data and Derived Data policies, proper licensing of intellectual property, and compliance with existing agreements. The successful candidate will ensure CME market data is used appropriately and will develop best practice guidelines for customer audits. The role requires experience in conducting onsite and remote audits of major financial institutions and information/software vendors.

Principle Accountabilities
  1. Execute customer compliance and audit programs to protect CME’s intellectual property, minimize revenue leakage, and enhance revenue recovery.
  2. Research and prepare for customer audits by gathering relevant materials for the audit process.
  3. Communicate clearly with audited firms regarding expectations, required materials, and manage timelines effectively.
  4. Perform onsite market data audits, analyzing applications and systems related to data consumption, inventory management, and permissioning systems.
  5. Provide insights and analysis of audit findings to stakeholders, including recommendations for future compliance and financial liabilities.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and external customers globally to promote compliance and ensure efficient audit processes.
Skills and Software Requirements
  • Experience in Market Data audit or management, including conducting onsite and remote audits.
  • Knowledge of exchange, index provider, or information vendor data policies.
  • Experience in negotiating liabilities from non-compliance issues.
  • Understanding of global data consumer and vendor firms, including investment banks and trading platforms.
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Experience in designing and implementing processes to improve efficiency.
  • FIA certification or CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Market Data Systems and permissioning systems like LSEG DACS, Bloomberg B-Pipe.
  • Familiarity with third-party inventory systems such as MDM, INFOmatch, FITS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
