Role Overview

The Audit Manager of Market Data Compliance and Assurance is crucial to the global governance of CME’s commercial market data business. The role involves executing market data audits across CME Group’s diverse customer base to ensure adherence to Market Data and Derived Data policies, proper licensing, and compliance with agreements. The successful candidate will ensure CME Group market data is used appropriately and will develop best practices for customer audits. Strong experience in conducting onsite and remote audits of financial institutions and vendors is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement customer compliance and audit programs to safeguard CME’s intellectual property, minimize revenue leakage, and enhance revenue recovery.
  2. Prepare for audits by gathering relevant materials and coordinating with clients.
  3. Communicate audit expectations and manage timelines effectively with clients.
  4. Conduct onsite market data audits, analyzing data applications, inventory, and permissioning systems.
  5. Present findings and insights to clients and internal stakeholders, including recommendations and potential liabilities.
  6. Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external clients to promote compliance and ensure smooth audit processes.
Skills and Software Requirements
  • Experience in Market Data audits or management, with knowledge of conducting remote and onsite audits.
  • Deep understanding of exchange, index provider, or information vendor data policies.
  • Experience in negotiating liabilities related to data policy violations.
  • Knowledge of global data vendors, investment banks, and trading platforms.
  • Ability to analyze, design, and improve processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Certifications such as FIA or CPA are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Market Data Systems (e.g., LSEG DACS, Bloomberg B-Pipe) and inventory systems (e.g., MDM, INFOmatch, FITS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and optionally Salesforce.
