Position overview:

This role will manage inventory to meet demand, reduce costs, and avoid stockouts and utilize inventory planning, data analysis, and optimization to develop strategies balancing service levels and costs, supporting business objectives, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to optimize inventory levels across the supply chain, including raw materials and finished goods.
  2. Analyze historical sales data, demand forecasts, and inventory trends to determine optimal stocking levels, reorder points, and safety stock requirements for each SKU or product category.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, commercial, and operations, to align inventory planning efforts with business goals and customer service objectives.
  4. Utilize inventory optimization tools and techniques to minimize excess inventory, reduce stockouts, and improve inventory turnover ratios.
  5. Monitor and track inventory performance metrics, such as fill rate, inventory accuracy, and carrying costs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Develop and maintain inventory replenishment policies and procedures, ensuring timely and accurate replenishment of inventory to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.
  7. Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, shortages, or excesses, and implement corrective actions to address underlying issues.
  8. Implement inventory segmentation strategies to prioritize inventory management efforts based on product characteristics, demand patterns, and profitability.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in inventory planning and optimization, incorporating new techniques and methodologies to improve inventory performance.

What are we looking for?

  1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, or a related field or 5 years' experience in inventory planning, supply chain management.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and implementing inventory strategies, optimizing stock levels, and improving inventory turnover in a complex supply chain environment.
  3. Understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control methodologies, and best practices in inventory management.
  4. Ability to identify root causes of inventory discrepancies or shortages and implement corrective actions to address underlying issues.
  5. Familiarity with demand forecasting techniques and methodologies to analyze historical sales data, demand forecasts, and inventory trends for determining optimal stocking levels and safety stock requirements.
  6. Experience with inventory planning methodologies and strategies to optimize inventory levels across the supply chain, including raw materials and finished goods.
  7. Proficiency in inventory management tools and systems to monitor and track inventory performance metrics such as fill rate, inventory accuracy, and carrying costs.
  8. Awareness of emerging technologies and best practices in inventory planning and optimization to stay informed and incorporate new techniques and methodologies for improving inventory performance.
