Manager Health & Social Care - Regulated Service

Location: Glasgow, the role will be based in and work across the Queen Elizabeth and Glasgow Royal Infirmary hospitals

Hours: 35 per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract Until 30th September 2026

Salary: £31,797 per annum

Travel: Ability to travel is essential

SSSC Registration: Registered with SSSC or meet the requirements for registration essential

For over 75 years, the British Red Cross has supported the NHS and provided a lifeline for vulnerable individuals and supported people in crisis following an emergency. If you are organised and motivated, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Health and Care team as a Service Manager. You will manage health and care services, ensuring all standards and requirements are met, and service contracts maintained.

Registered with SSSC or meet the requirements for registration is essential.

Possibility of secondment for internal applicants.

What does a day in the life of a Service Manager involve?

  • Ensuring services are developed and implemented within guidelines and to expectations, flexed to meet local needs.
  • Understanding legislative frameworks related to social care, health and social care standards, care inspectorate, and SSSC.
  • Ensuring the area operates within the Corporate Plan; service standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Supporting developments and contracts.
  • Quality and performance management.
  • Line management of staff.

What does it take to be a successful Service Manager?

  • Management experience and excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload against deadlines.
  • Experience in a health or social care setting or voluntary organisation, delivering high-quality services to people in need.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare, manage, and monitor budgets.
