Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our Governance Services team in London. In this role, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the office and oversee the administration of corporate entities. As the business grows, you will manage a Client Services administrator team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in corporate governance. About the role
- Assist in developing the Mourant Governance Services UK office, including procedures and daily operations.
- Manage the onboarding and administration of new business, ensuring efficient and professional client service.
- Administer a portfolio of clients, maintaining high standards in client relationships and transactions.
- Act as a director to client entities and signatory for client bank accounts.
- Lead and develop the UK team, fostering motivation and proficiency aligned with the firm’s values and service standards.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on transactions and processes.
- Manage client expectations and nurture relationships to enhance the team’s reputation and generate repeat business.
- Oversee daily team activities, ensuring timely processing, deadline adherence, and proper WIP and debt management.
- Maintain consistent client service levels and address any issues promptly.
- Adhere to firm policies and procedures at all times.
- Support the integration of the UK office within the wider Governance Services network, ensuring a unified approach.
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams, staying updated on regulatory changes and industry standards.
- Contribute to risk management by identifying gaps and proposing improvements.
- Maintain CPD requirements for your role.
About you
This role requires:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Company Secretary, primarily with UK structures.
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
- CGI UK Graduate, Affiliated, or Fellow Member.
- Proven experience in a law firm’s company secretarial team or a corporate services provider.
- Experience with filings in the Register of Overseas Entities (preferred but not essential).
- Law degree (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of the UK Companies Act provisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Initiative, proactivity, accuracy, and organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
