We are recruiting for a Manager, Financial Risk (Liabilities) on an FTC basis until the end of 2025. This role focuses on managing financial risks impacting Lloyd’s capital and assets, including underwriting, reserving, catastrophe exposure, and reinsurance risks.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Identify and assess financial risks faced by Lloyd’s, particularly underwriting, reserving, catastrophe, and reinsurance risks.
2. Provide oversight and challenge to risk management functions, recommending improvements where necessary.
3. Ensure assurance over the Lloyd’s Principles Based Oversight framework, a key control for syndicate capability risks.
4. Contribute risk input into strategic initiatives and provide formal risk opinions on potential impacts.
5. Assess the risk landscape, conduct thematic reviews, and implement recommendations.
6. Support regulatory submissions, ORSA, and risk monitoring/reporting to management and committees.
7. Maintain relationships with relevant departments such as Market Reserving & Capital, Exposure Management, Underwriting, and Reinsurance.
8. Respond to ad hoc requests from senior risk leadership with agility.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Understanding of insurance liabilities and risk management frameworks, including Solvency II.
• Experience in risk management, with knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and insurance industry.
• Proven influencing skills with senior management.
• Experience in underwriting, reserving, catastrophe, or reinsurance risks.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders and challenging situations.
• Qualified actuary or CFA Charterholder.
