Job Description & Requirements

Manager, Agency Network Management (Container Ship Owner)

Our client is a leading container ship owner and the largest in Singapore.

This role involves assisting with shipping-related investment projects in the assigned regions and leading specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of several countries, overseeing agency corporate governance, performance management, and commercial activities.
  2. Handle corporate governance aspects including board and management structures, ownership, control rights, CAPEX & OPEX management, and agency-principal commission negotiations.
  3. Collaborate with the Agency Finance Controller on financial matters, reviewing performance, expenses, cash flow, dividends, and budgets.
  4. Plan and finalize annual budgets with input from agencies and HQ, and monitor their execution.
  5. Assist in managing M&A projects.
  6. Coordinate with various Business Units and stakeholders to improve portfolio performance.
  7. Lead investigations, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and develop preventive measures.
  8. Support transformation initiatives and contribute to strategic planning for efficiency improvements.
  9. Maintain relationships with local partners and ensure good corporate governance in coordination with the Corporate Entity Management team.
  10. Manage detention/demurrage post waivers, third-party billing for container repair waivers.
  11. Travel may be required to represent the company.

Must Have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Corporate Law, Maritime Studies, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications like ACCA are advantageous.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years in corporate management.
  3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
