On the Accounts Payable team within Finance Operations (FinOps), you will work with talented and dedicated professionals committed to driving financial improvement, scalability, and process excellence. To support Amazon's business growth, candidates must have a passion for accountability, high standards, raising the bar, and driving results through continuous improvement of operations, systems, and processes. The ability to think strategically and create long-term plans, coupled with strong tactical skills for day-to-day execution, is essential. This position manages a team of over 40 members, driving operational excellence, performing deep dives, and contributing to process improvements. The role requires complex problem-solving, managing multiple high-visibility priorities, and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Key responsibilities:

  • Managing Accounts Payable finance operations with a team of 40+
  • Conducting deep dives and contributing to process improvements
  • Driving operations to achieve key goals
  • Representing operations in leadership calls
  • Coordinating with Tech, Product, and Business Partnering teams
  • Managing process and operational escalations
  • Resolving critical vendor issues and supporting process/system deep dives for root cause analysis and improvements
  • Negotiating processes and policies to eliminate dependencies and defects
  • Collaborating with Business Partnering teams and businesses to set operational goals
  • Identifying and evaluating financial and operational risks and opportunities, and driving ad-hoc projects
  • Working cross-functionally to identify opportunities and implement plans to improve processes, technology, and human interfaces, with measurement of progress
Basic qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in the corporate sector
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, work cross-functionally, and build consensus
  • Managerial skills for problem and crisis management
  • Responsibility for making difficult decisions, taking calculated risks, and experimenting with new approaches
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience managing managers
  • 8+ years of people management experience
  • 5+ years in finance and accounting roles
  • 6+ years in Accounts Payable
  • 6+ years applying KPIs to analysis
  • 6+ years creating process improvements with automation and analysis
  • 6+ years participating in continuous improvement projects with measurable results
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
Preferred qualifications:
  • 6+ years working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals across organizations
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies for operational excellence
  • Proven project and operations management skills
