Founded in 1960, Gray’s robust offering enables us to create one-of-a-kind solutions at the highest levels of customization, delivering unmatched precision and partnership to some of the world’s most sophisticated organizations. Still, these areas don’t define Gray—our people do. Passion, commitment, and a great team spirit all speak to the team members at Gray.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

Through coordination with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Site Quality Manager, and MEP Group Manager, the Manager, Energy Marshall Program directs activities and coordinates the day-to-day Energization program and procedures for the company, starting at project start-up to full completion.

  1. Analyze current energization processes to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Manage daily activities of the Energy Marshal program for all supporting markets through both processes and people.
  3. Ensure adequate staffing on all projects and markets through the following:
  • Hiring of new team members
  • Providing direction for staffing of current and upcoming projects
  • Counseling sheets and PIP as needed for team members
  • Updating staffing software utilized by Gray, to ensure utilization rates are within the guidelines.
  • Ensure the implementation of the created energizing plans at the job site level through management of onsite personnel.
  • Train team members in the use of the energization/Energy Marshal program and support question resolution pertaining to the program.
  • Ensure the energization program provides fair and effective monitoring of the overall organization on a regular and timely basis.
  • Accumulate data from the energization program at the site level to report continuous improvement measures to prevent repetitive lessons learned within their respective markets and across all markets to share learnings with the company.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections/audits to ensure that energization plans are in place and report findings to the QMS Director.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external clients including owners, business partners, manufacturers reaps, and third parties.
  • Ensure all Energy Marshals have the required NFPA 70E on Electrical Safety Related Work Practices.
  • Assign and train competent Energy Marshals as needed to support project and campus needs.
  • Ensure all Teams are trained on LOTO and that trainings and records are maintained and easily accessible for customer reference.
  • Ownership over the energization process for Gray Construction, including updating on an annual or sooner basis. These processes may not be owned by the Energy Marshal Program manager but will be their responsibility to review annually at a minimum:
    • LOTO
    • Energization process
    • FOD inspection process
    • Tamper Seal Program
    • Any other energization process that falls within Gray Construction
  • May be required to temporarily monitor projects while others are away and provide coverage on jobsites from time to time.
  • Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support proper and safe energizing of systems on a Gray Construction project.
  • Who we want… (Requirements)
