Job description

The Future Growth Division of La Trobe University leads our commitment to markets and communities, with oversight of the University’s strategic intent to connect both globally and locally attracting students and partners from across the world and closer to home.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Domestic Marketing this role is responsible for leading the development and execution of Domestic segment / s (School Leaver, Non School Leaver and / or Postgraduate) marketing and campaign strategy. It is also responsible for leading a level of overarching marketing but non segment related projects as determined within the marketing strategy.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for key domestic segments (including market and product strategies) and promotional campaigns across the entire marketing mix.
  • Lead cross-functional squads (content, paid media, web, digital, outbound, and creative), ensuring the agile delivery of coordinated campaigns that span the student lifecycle.
  • Manage resource allocation, prioritisation, and performance monitoring to achieve strategic marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with Schools, Market Intelligence, Product, and Recruitment teams to develop and prioritise strategies that address organisational needs, targets, and priorities within squad plans.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for domestic audiences based on existing data, insights, and additional research requirements to ensure campaigns are relevant and impactful.
  • Continuously review and analyse the domestic market, higher education sector, and campaign landscape, shaping recommendations for interventions and future activity to improve campaign performance and achieve targets.

As the successful applicant, you will have :

  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies and integrated campaigns, with a strong understanding of the full marketing mix and campaign lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional marketing teams, including content, paid media, web, and digital, to deliver coordinated campaigns that achieve strategic objectives.
  • Proven track record in campaign planning, execution, and optimisation, with the ability to translate strategic goals into measurable marketing outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
  • Demonstrated organisational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience managing and optimising marketing budgets, with a strong understanding of financial management procedures and resource allocation.

Preferred but not essential :

  • Experience overseeing or collaborating on paid media strategies across digital advertising platforms, with an understanding of how to leverage analytics (e.g. Adobe Analytics) to inform performance and optimisation.
