The opportunity

As part of our Belfast-based business tax advisory team, you’ll provide a full range of business tax advisory services. You’ll work alongside specialists daily to broaden your experience in different business tax areas, assisting clients with tax planning both in the UK and internationally, and supporting merger and acquisition transactions from tax due diligence and structuring perspectives. This role offers broad experience across all business tax advisory matters, including corporate and shareholder reorganisations, restructuring, acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, BEPS, and international tax, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and responsibilities that will help develop your career with EY.

Your key responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of business tax advisory services, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.
• Build and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional service and high-quality deliverables that demonstrate value.
• Develop internal relationships to identify opportunities and provide deep specialist assistance to clients.
• Contribute to winning new work by managing existing clients proactively and building relationships within the business community to attract new clients.
• Coach and support junior team members in client and project work, fostering their development.

As a manager, you will also manage team strategy and operations, coaching less experienced members and supporting their career growth.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experience as a corporate tax manager with UK corporate tax expertise.
• Experience in business tax advisory projects, including restructuring, due diligence, and structuring for acquisitions. Solid UK corporate tax compliance background and international tax experience are advantageous.
• Knowledge of recent tax environment changes (BEPS, CBCR, etc.).
• A proven track record in business development with existing clients and new prospects.
