Role overview:

As Manager, Commercial UKI you will manage a team of Commercial Managers for the UK & Ireland within PlayStation’s Global Channel Sales & Operations (CSO) organisation. Reporting into the Head of Sales for the territory, you will work closely with them and the Manager, Commercial Planning to implement the commercial strategy across physical and digital retail channels, drive market share, revenue growth and profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, retail landscapes and entertainment industry trends. You will also manage commercial relationships with our key accounts and top retail partners to achieve business goals.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales and Manager, Commercial Planning to develop and implement the UKI commercial strategy, in conjunction with CSO’s commercial strategy.
  • Managing team execution of revenue, margin and market share targets across PlayStation’s physical product portfolio (consoles, peripherals, software and vouchers).
  • Optimise, develop and cultivate relationships with key accounts and retail partners, delivering a collaborative approach to joint business planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales and Manager, Commercial Planning on commercial terms, promotional planning and online/in-store product visibility.

People Management (Best Place to Work):

  • Manage, develop and inspire a team of high-performing UKI Commercial Managers to deliver sales forecasts.
  • Lead empathetically, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity and customer-centricity.

Forecasting & Insights :

  • Work closely with the Manager, Commercial Planning to supervise the forecasting process and team ways of working.
  • Liaise with the Business Insights Analyst to bring to life sales data, market trends and competitor activity.

Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Collaborate with other managers across Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Global Teams to ensure optimum business delivery.
  • Champion a “We Are One” culture within the UKI territory.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and growth initiatives across the UKI retail landscape and PlayStation product portfolio to drive revenue and operating profit.
  • Encourage team innovation to develop team efficiency and output.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years (or equivalent) proven experience in commercial management roles within the gaming, entertainment, consumer electronics, tech or FMCG industries.
  • People management experience is preferred.
  • Deep commercial knowledge and a UKI retail landscape expert, with experience negotiating at a senior level.
  • Solution focussed with a proactive demeanor.
  • Strong ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships.
  • Fluency in English is essential and experience of working in a multinational organisation is an advantage.
