Manager - CLR AAS

Base Location: London

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our rapidly expanding Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) team. The team provides specialist accounting and financial reporting advice to clients across a range of complex accounting issues. You will work across a diverse range of projects, varying in magnitude and complexity, focusing on the application of technical accounting and financial reporting, in particular: accounting policy conversions and GAAP analysis, US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and US capital markets transactions, preparation of financial statements or carve out accounts, merger and acquisition activity, implementation support for new standards, group restructurings, and training. You will often work as part of cross-functional teams including Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Audit and Tax. You will also support with business development activities with clients and contribute to the team's growth and success.

What will you be doing?

  1. Managing client accounting related engagements. This will include managing small teams and, in some instances, leading AAS input into larger, multi-disciplinary teams.
  2. Assessing the impact of new and existing accounting standards (IFRS, UKGAAP, Companies Act), advising clients on their application and the impact on the operation of an organisation.
  3. Providing accounting and financial reporting support in relation to US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and US capital markets transactions.
  4. Supporting transaction teams with IFRS 3 analysis and model reviews with relevant accounting frameworks.
  5. Providing accounting support to transaction and tax teams, answering questions on technical issues and providing input for reports.
  6. Developing and delivering accounting training to clients and internal KPMG teams.
  7. Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having rich development conversations that supports their growth and career progression.
  8. Helping to grow our business through building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and KPMG individuals.
What will you need to do it?
  1. Professional qualification from a recognised accountancy body.
  2. Experience of working within an accounting advisory function of a professional services firm/ corporate business sector.
  3. Detailed knowledge and experience of IFRS 9, 15 and 16, UK GAAP (FRS 101/102), and Companies Act.
  4. Knowledge and experience of US GAAP.
  5. Experience of developing and presenting accounting training courses.
  6. Experience of managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  7. Proven track record of managing and delivering high quality, complex projects with stakeholder deliverables.
Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:
  1. Business development experience with new and existing clients within the corporate sector.
  2. Knowledge and experience of SEC reporting.
