Job Title: Manager - Carryduff

Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

Direct Reports: Sales Advisors, Senior Sales Advisors

Purpose

To provide the best possible service to customers, thereby maximizing sales and profit. To control and operate the store in accordance with company instructions, policies, and procedures to minimize operating costs and maximize profits. To ensure staff carry out duties effectively and in accordance with the job profile and company policies.

Responsibilities
  1. Customer Relations / Selling Skills: Promote professional and quality customer service; assess and satisfy customer needs; identify and maximize selling opportunities; ensure staff deliver required customer service levels; actively achieve company KPIs.
  2. Commercial and Business Acumen: Seek opportunities for increased business; be aware of competition; support new initiatives; demonstrate creative presentation of products.
  3. Leadership / Responsibility: Manage daily store operations and staff; ensure adherence to policies; lead by example; use authority appropriately.
  4. Legislation: Implement legislation affecting the business (health and safety, licensing, trading standards).
  5. Organisation and Planning: Plan and prioritize work; delegate effectively; organize resources to meet deadlines.
  6. Resource Maximization: Operate store within targets and budgets related to sales, stock loss, stock levels, staff hours, and costs.
  7. Quality Standards: Maintain high store and personal standards; exhibit excellent merchandising skills.
  8. Motivation: Encourage team effort; foster cohesion; maintain motivation.
  9. Staff Training and Development: Identify training needs; provide feedback; appraise performance; promote open communication.
  10. Administration: Follow company systems for cash, stock, payroll, and marketing; ensure accuracy; follow instructions; communicate effectively.
  11. Problem Solving: Anticipate issues; analyze and resolve problems; evaluate solutions.
Qualifications

Essential: Good standard of education including 5 GCSEs with English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent; or 1 year supervisory/management experience in retail/customer service.

Must be committed to completing WSET Level 3 in Wines and Spirits. Desirable: WSET Level 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Skills and Experience

Essential: Minimum 1 year experience in a customer-focused environment; excellent appearance; effective communication skills; professional customer service; positive attitude; team leadership skills; valid driving license and access to a car.

Desirable: 1 year supervisory/management experience; interest/knowledge of wine.

Additional Information

Must be 18 or over. Flexible to business needs, including working full shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, and evenings. Ability to work in or transfer between stores within reasonable distance. Full, valid driving license preferred.
