Job Summary:

My consultancy client is currently managing a long-term transformation programme based in the City of London. We are looking to engage an experienced Business Information Manager to join the senior leadership team and support the Director of Information whilst leading the incumbent team responsible for business intelligence, information compliance, records management, and performance reporting.

This role is crucial in ensuring ethical, effective, and innovative use of information. You will oversee the development of advanced analytics and ensure data supports strategic decisions. The postholder will also foster a data-driven culture, manage privacy and disclosure compliance, and lead change in a modern digital policing environment.

Security clearance SC & NPPV3 (from Warwick) is essential

Essential Experience:

1. Senior leadership experience in a change-oriented role
2. Proven ability to lead specialist teams, set objectives, and drive delivery
3. Strong track record in the public sector
4. Strategic understanding of information governance, digital transformation, and performance
5. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and cloud-based systems
6. Experience with national law enforcement systems such as PNC, PND, or ViSOR
7. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and develop high-performing specialist teams
2. Oversee delivery of records management, FOI, DPA/GDPR compliance, and disclosure
3. Manage force-wide performance reporting and analytics
4. Promote and embed data-informed decision-making across departments
5. Govern the ethical use of advanced analytics, AI, and emerging data technologies
6. Represent the Directorate at senior internal and external governance forums
7. Align information systems with national and corporate programmes
8. Oversee risk management and business continuity planning within the Information Management portfolio
9. Lead a culture of continuous improvement, adopting modern and flexible approaches
10. Collaborate with IT and Digital teams on modernisation of business information platforms and reporting tools

Desirable:

1. Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation
2. Formal qualification in change management, data governance, or information compliance
