A leading global reinsurer in London is seeking an Actuarial ALM Modelling Manager to lead the design and optimisation of asset liability models. This newly created position offers the opportunity to shape the role and contribute to strategic decision-making. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in ALM with strong modelling skills, programming expertise, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

Right now, they’re building out a brand new technical specialist role – a Manager focused on Asset Liability Modelling (ALM). This sits within their global Actuarial Systems function and offers the chance to shape how ALM tools support business-critical decisions.
It’s a newly created position, meaning you’ll have the space to shape the role, build from a solid foundation, and bring in your own ideas
It’s asset-heavy – ideal for someone who’s deeply interested in ALM, investment modelling, and how assets and liabilities interact
You’ll report into the AVP, ALM Lead, who’s part of a leadership team led by the VP of Actuarial Systems & Projects, alongside Delivery, Architecture and Project Leads
It’s global – your work will support pricing and in-force teams across Europe, Asia and North America
This team is focused on technical excellence and smart innovation – and this hire is a key part of that strategy.
Lead on design, build and optimisation of ALM and asset models
Support and enhance modelling tools used across pricing and capital management
Collaborate with ALM, Risk, IT and Actuarial teams globally
Identify and implement model and process improvements – automation, performance and control
Support strategic initiatives that link asset modelling with wider business priorities
Be a technical SME in ALM, providing deep insight and hands-on expertise
Qualified life actuary (or equivalent) with 5+ years’ experience
Strong modelling background with focus on assets, ALM or investment-linked products
Hands-on experience with FIS Prophet –especially ALS or US360 libraries – although this isn’t a neccesity and other coding skills in other platforms is ok too (including VBA)
Broader programming/scripting skills a plus – Python, SQL, VBA, R
A passion for technical modelling, optimisation and asset-heavy decision-making
Confident communicator who can work across actuarial and non-actuarial teams
