Manager, Board Operations

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond—focusing on sustainable infrastructure. Since beginning operations in Beijing in 2016, AIIB has grown to include 110 approved members worldwide. With capital of USD100 billion and a AAA credit rating, AIIB collaborates with partners to meet clients' needs by unlocking new capital and investing in green, technology-enabled infrastructure that promotes regional connectivity.

The AIIB aims to foster economic growth in Asia through infrastructure investment and regional cooperation.

The Manager, Board Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Board's operations and engagement. Reporting to the Director General and Assistant Corporate Secretary, this role is responsible for facilitating Board operations and ensuring compliance with the Bank's legal framework for governance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate Board engagement through structured, transparent, and informed interactions between the Board and Bank Management.
  2. Support the Board in governance duties and oversee Board operations for efficient decision-making and governance initiatives.
  3. Manage Board meetings and Committee sessions, including preparing agendas, minutes, and summary records following AIIB procedures.
  4. Support the delegation process of investment projects, ensuring clear communication between the Board and management.
  5. Facilitate the election and appointment process for Board Directors and Committee members.
  6. Develop and implement capacity-building programs for constituencies and facilitate meetings to strengthen engagement and communication.
  7. Oversee budgeting, implementation, and review of financial support for governance-related capacity-building initiatives.
  8. Research and advise on best practices in corporate governance and Board operations.
  9. Lead a lean team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in Board operations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with international financial institutions, private sector, or public sector organizations.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • Deep insight and extensive experience in corporate governance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders diplomatically.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and motivation.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to lead a diverse, multicultural team.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
