Role: Manager | 35 hours per week | 12 months contract | Isle of Man

Job Summary:

The manager is central to ensuring that Praxis Care achieves its goal of providing quality care to the most vulnerable in our societies. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Project Manager will ensure the effective and efficient management and development of the service in line with organizational strategy, ensuring regulatory, organizational, and contract compliance, while at all times promoting the Praxis Care values and brand through high-quality support of the people we support.

Candidate note: This role is located on the Isle of Man and applicants must either be a resident or hold a work permit at time of appointment to take up the role.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure that all work within the service is user-focused, co-produced, and upholds the principles of respect, privacy, dignity, fulfillment, independence, and choice.
  • Oversee and contribute to the referral process, admission, and review procedures while working in partnership with relevant statutory agencies, the people we support, their families, and others to co-produce and develop person-centered programs of care and support.
  • Monitor and support individuals towards increased independence and contribute to the review of each person we support in partnership with them and the multi-disciplinary/agency teams.
  • Handle issues of concern or complaints sensitively and appropriately, following policy and procedure.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the advertising of staff vacancies, selection, recruitment, and induction of new staff in partnership with Support Services.
  • Provide effective, quality-driven leadership of all staff within the service through regular supervision, workload management, and identification of development needs.
  • Foster a positive, cohesive, and therapeutic environment; manage disciplinary, grievance, untoward incidents, and complaints appropriately.
  • Develop good working relationships and actively promote community presence within the locality.
  • Ensure efficient administration procedures and systems are in place to comply with policy and regulatory/legislative requirements, including rota planning and medication storage/dispensing.
  • Ensure reporting procedures are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete annual service evaluation reports.
  • Be involved in preparation and control of the service budget, ensuring financial procedures are adhered to and monies are accounted for; maintain monthly budget oversight.
  • Maintain responsibility for oversight of people we support funds where appropriate.
  • Complete Health & Safety monthly monitoring reports and work with landlords, contractors, and health and safety experts to ensure activities are safe and compliant.
  • Ensure Health & Safety reports within people we support homes are completed to ensure safety.
Requirements of the Role
  • Must hold the relevant qualification for this role.
  • Participate in the organization's performance management process.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call service on a rota basis.
  • Adhere to and model the organization's values, behaviours, and competencies at all times.
  • Carry out duties of the role in accordance with Praxis rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Carry out additional duties of the role and all other required duties as necessary.

The above-mentioned duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to carry out other duties as necessary. It should be noted that duties or location may change to meet future needs of the organization.

Criteria

Education, Experience & Training Qualifications

Essential:

  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting.

Qualification in:

  • Social Work
  • 1st Level Nursing
  • Allied Health Profession
  • Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care services in relevant pathways.

Desirable:

  • Previous management experience within supported living and collaboration with Housing Associations.
  • Experience in contracts management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Full valid driving license and access to own vehicle (or state mobility alternatives for disability).
  • Capable in the use of IT software, including Microsoft packages.
  • Change Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in needs assessment, delivery of support plans and risk assessments.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Experience of working with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autism.
