Job summary

Moorhouse is hiring for an AI Engineer to lead design, development and deployment of AI solutions, including LLM-based agents, automation and decision-support tools for enterprise clients.

You will mentor junior colleagues, collaborate with delivery leads, and contribute to scalable architectures while advancing Moorhouse’s AI capabilities and client outcomes.

Qualifications

You will lead the design, development and deployment of AI solutions, including LLM-based agents, automation and decision‑support tools, helping clients achieve measurable outcomes while ensuring solutions can be operated safely and effectively in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI solutions using LLMs, agent frameworks and related tooling, from prototype to production
• Integrate AI components with client and Moorhouse systems via APIs, event streams and workflow tools
• Implement robust engineering practices including version control, testing, observability and performance tuning
• Work with architects and data engineers to define scalable, secure and cost‑effective solution designs
• Collaborate with AI Delivery Leads to estimate, plan and deliver work across discovery, pilot and scale phases
• Implement evaluation frameworks for AI performance (accuracy, safety, latency, cost) in partnership with the Evaluation & Assurance Analyst
• Provide technical leadership and support and coaching to AI Engineers and broader consulting teams.
• Contribute to Moorhouse intellectual property (IP): reusable components, accelerators, templates and knowledge assets

Essential Skills

• 6 - 8 years’ consulting experience whether this is from a big consulting firm, boutique consultancy or experience gained in developing and delivering AI products within industry
• Strong hands‑on experience building AI/ML systems in production (ideally including LLMs and/or agents)
• Proficiency in Python (or similar) and common AI tooling (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, cloud AI services)
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (REST APIs, microservices, identity/permissions)
• Understanding of software engineering best practice (CI/CD, testing, code quality, observability)
• Confident communicating with both technical and non‑technical audiences, with experience building effective relationships with senior client stakeholders and leadership teams.
• A passion for building and nurturing strong relationships with colleagues
• A keen interest in playing a senior role within the Service Line team, supporting the development of compelling propositions and integrating with Sector teams
• Experience across multiple sectors can be valuable, although we equally welcome candidates who have developed deeper expertise within a particular sector.

• Measured impact of solutions (cost, capacity, risk, service)
• Reuse of patterns / components across engagements

• A total cash package of up to £110,000 comprising of a base salary of £82,005 and a combination of personal and company bonuses that are paid every six months.
