Job summary

SG Partnership is recruiting a Management Accountant/Finance Analyst to join its growing finance team in Birmingham. The role offers exposure to management accounting, financial analysis, business partnering and strategic projects, including the integration of newly acquired businesses.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting month-end processes, budgeting and KPI reporting while partnering with senior finance colleagues to drive commercial insights and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA, with experience in management accounting/finance analysis.
• Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical ability to translate data into commercial insight.
• Advanced Excel skills with large data sets and financial models.
• Clear communication and stakeholder interaction across the business.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly management accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Provide financial/operational analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities for decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting for business planning.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to support reporting requirements.
• Develop and improve management information, models and reporting tools.
• Support transformation initiatives to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Contribute to post-acquisition integration projects aligning reporting, systems and controls.
• Support broader finance and commercial projects as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Produce insightful financial and operational analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support commercial decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting, providing accurate financial information to support business planning.
• Work closely with Finance Business Partners, supporting reporting requirements and providing analysis to operational stakeholders.
• Develop and enhance management information, financial models and reporting tools to improve the quality and accessibility of financial data.
• Support finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Contribute to post-acquisition integration projects, supporting the alignment of financial reporting, systems, controls and processes across newly acquired businesses.
• Support wider finance and commercial projects, providing analytical input and financial insight as the business continues to grow.

Candidate Profile

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA), with experience gained in a management accounting, finance analyst or similar role.
• Strong understanding of month-end processes, management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and translate data into meaningful commercial insight.
• Advanced Excel skills, with confidence working with large data sets, financial models and reporting tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
• A proactive, commercially minded individual who enjoys problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing multiple priorities and taking ownership of responsibilities.
