Job Description
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Complete month-end accounting, reconciliations, and reporting to the U.S. parent entity (P&L and Balance Sheet), including review of specific financial balances within the consolidated accounts.
- Prepare and deliver monthly management packs with clear financial insights, including variance analysis, event breakdowns, costs, and joint venture calculations, accompanied by actionable commentary.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly re-forecasting cycles, covering short-term, intermediate, and long-range financial planning.
Event Finance Management
- Prepare pre-event budgets for stakeholder distribution, ensuring accuracy in revenue and costs.
- Perform post-event reconciliations for revenues, costs, and profitability, including cash reconciliation and documentation validation.
Accounts Payable, Payment Processing & Billing
- Manage the weekly payment run process, including invoice approval and stakeholder liaison.
- Oversee purse payments, ensuring compliance with contracts and tax regulations.
- Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre for invoice processing and review employee expenses.
Joint Venture
- Calculate and update billing positions with JV partners monthly, including historic data and cost allocations.
- Recalculate partner profit shares for relevant events.
Payroll, Audit & Tax Compliance
- Review payroll for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage external audits and ensure timely, accurate filings of accounts and tax returns.
- Coordinate with tax advisors on international tax implications and submissions.
Stakeholder Support & Ad Hoc Tasks
- Respond to financial requests from the Boxing team and internal stakeholders.
- Support the Finance Director in operational goals.
- Participate in review meetings and finance projects.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in management accounting, preferably in sports, events, or entertainment sectors.
- Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
