We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Settlements Finance team to help us unleash the potential of every business.

About the team

The Settlements team are responsible for delivering daily reconciliations and monthly accounting close, supported by a set of bank and control account reconciliations. The team will investigate and manage complex accounts and support on expansion projects.

What you’ll own

  • Manage month-end processes and reporting, including preparing complex journals.
  • Delivering balance sheet substantiations to a high standard, reporting risks, resolving reconciling items, and proposing improvements.
  • Ensure timely completion of audits, providing clear, well-structured information and improving standardisation and documentation of responses.
  • Build working relationships across operational finance and the financial reporting team.
  • Conduct reconciling item root cause analysis, aged item investigation, , including Monthly Aged break reviews and link into financial reporting.
  • Analyse and drive team performance through reporting and management information (MI).
  • Raise technical incidents where needed and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Act as the first point of contact for queries and escalations from operations colleagues.
  • Lead the improvement of settlement accounting reporting across all LatAm entities.
  • Participate in projects to upgrade reporting and reconciliation systems.

What you bring

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentations.
  • Capable of working independently with only administrative supervision.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to recognize when issues should be escalated.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to overcome major obstacles.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to design, document, and implement process improvements, and to learn complex processes through experience and consultation with peers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with other accounting and reconciliation software packages (e.g. Oracle, ARCS, Etc).

Added Bonus if you have

  • Experience in another payment processing company.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Language skills – Spanish or Portuguese
  • Experience using Oracle or Autorek
