Wade Macdonald is seeking a newly qualified Management Accountant to join a growing healthcare client remotely. You will report to the Head of FP&A and take ownership of monthly reporting, balance sheet reviews and commercial analysis.

The role offers exposure to senior finance leadership within a private equity-backed organisation. Strong Excel skills, analytical mindset and effective communication are essential, with experience in or exposure to Microsoft Business Central being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with at least three years' practical accounting experience.
• Strong Excel capabilities, analytical thinking and excellent communication skills.
• Exposure to Microsoft Business Central or comparable finance systems is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Oversee monthly financial reporting and ensure reconciliations are completed on time.
• Manage key balance sheet areas including income deferrals and provisions.
• Analyze revenue streams and ensure proper income recognition across customer arrangements.
• Prepare operational and financial reports, identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide variance analysis and recommendations to support commercial decisions.
• Engage with operational managers to provide financial guidance and challenge where needed.
• Evaluate profitability and expenditure across services to drive efficiency.
• Monitor salary-related expenditure and working capital movements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and capital investment accounting.

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified Management Accountant to join a growing finance team, reporting directly to the Head of FP&A. This is a varied and commercially focused position, offering the chance to take ownership of financial reporting while working closely with operational stakeholders to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

Duties will include:

• Overseeing monthly financial reporting, ensuring accurate accounts and reconciliations are completed within agreed deadlines.
• Taking responsibility for key balance sheet areas, including income deferrals and contractual provisions.
• Analysing revenue streams and ensuring income is accurately recorded across different customer arrangements.
• Preparing operational and financial performance reports, identifying key trends and areas requiring attention.
• Investigating financial variances and providing clear recommendations to support commercial decisions.
• Building strong relationships with operational managers, offering financial guidance and constructive challenge.
• Evaluating profitability and expenditure across different services to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Monitoring employee-related expenditure, including temporary staffing costs and associated liabilities.
• Preparing short-term cash flow projections and assessing movements in working capital.
• Contributing to financial planning activities, including annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Supporting the accounting of capital investments and maintaining accurate fixed asset records.
• Coordinating information for external audits and ensuring financial controls are consistently maintained.
• Reviewing existing finance processes and supporting improvements to reporting systems and procedures.
• Undertaking additional financial analysis and projects alongside the Head of FP&A.

About the Successful Applicant

You will be a newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with at least three years' practical accounting experience. Strong Excel capabilities, analytical thinking and excellent communication skills are essential, alongside the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business. Exposure to Microsoft Business Central or comparable finance systems would be advantageous, as would experience within Healthcare or another operationally complex environment.
