Job summary

Oxford Instruments is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Materials Analysis division. You will deliver accurate monthly management accounts, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide insightful analysis to stakeholders across an international manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will partner with Finance and Operations to drive process improvements, act as a business partner, and contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and reporting.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification is required.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial or production environments.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting financial analysis.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Analyse inventory, margins, labour recoveries and cost performance.
• Support transfer pricing calculations and monthly foreign exchange (FX) reporting.
• Deliver monthly R&D labour recovery reporting and forecasting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and order book planning processes.
• Participate in quarterly balance sheet reviews and Group reporting activities.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, reporting and systems, including the use of AI and digital technologies.

The Opportunity

As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing valuable analysis to stakeholders across the business. About You

You'll be an analytical and proactive finance professional with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight. You'll enjoy working collaboratively across functions, managing competing priorities and identifying opportunities to improve performance and processes.

Essential Requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial or production environment.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing and product costing methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience within a science, engineering or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Cognos Controller or similar reporting tools.
• Experience within a complex international organisation.
