Job summary

Oxford Instruments is seeking a Management Accountant to join its Materials Analysis business and help deliver accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. You will partner with Finance and Operations to drive performance and provide insightful financial information.

As part of an international manufacturing environment, you will analyse cost performance, support month-end processes and drive continuous improvement using AI and digital technologies across the organisation.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
• Manufacturing/engineering/industrial experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Inventory accounting, standard costing and product costing knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP proficiency.
• Effective communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in science, engineering or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Power BI, Cognos Controller or similar reporting tools.
• Experience within a complex international organisation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting financial analysis.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Analyse inventory, margins, labour recoveries and cost performance.
• Support transfer pricing calculations and monthly foreign exchange (FX) reporting.
• Deliver monthly R&D labour recovery reporting and forecasting activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and order book planning processes.
• Participate in quarterly balance sheet reviews and Group reporting activities.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, reporting and systems, including the use of AI and digital technologies.
