Job summary

A leading automotive service firm is seeking a Management Accountant to handle the finances for the Thurleigh site. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for producing management accounts, performing variance analysis, and presenting financial reports to stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have AAT qualifications and strong Excel skills, with an emphasis on communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Management accountant for our Thurleigh site.
  • Production of management accounts ensuring correct income and expenditure recognition.
  • Regular site visits and meetings on site.
  • Variance analysis and commentary vs forecast & budget.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.

Role title: Management Accountant

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Location: BCA Thurleigh/hybrid

Your key responsibilities will be:


Management accountant for our Thurleigh site.
Finance lead for all aspects at Thurleigh.
The production of management accounts, in line with ensuring the correct income and expenditure are recognized through deferred income, accruals and prepayments.
Regular site visits and meetings on site.
Variance analysis and commentary vs forecast & budget.
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
Sales reconciliations
Presenting financial reports to all stakeholders on a monthly basis.
Support year-end audit process.
Ownership of full year budget preparation for your site.
Weekly and quarterly Forecasting
Support team with any ad-hoc tasks.
Work closely with site GM offering support.


To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you:


Competency in software packages including Excel and other Microsoft applications
Qualified AAT or above
Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform initial self-review of work prior to submission.
Effective planning and time management skills including ability to manage one’s own workload to meet deadlines.
Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment employing pragmatism where necessary.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to challenge the status quo and a desire to find ways of improving current processes.
Ability to work independently and present findings in a concise way.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, including clear articulation of financial data to non-finance audiences.
