Job summary

United Learning is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Central Office in Peterborough, supporting multiple schools with timely financial information and analysis. You will prepare monthly management accounts, assist with budgets and forecasts, and collaborate with Finance Business Partners and central teams to empower school leaders in decision making.

AAT or equivalent qualification and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent, qualified and continuing study for a recognised professional accounting qualification eg CIMA, ACCA.
• Knowledge of management accounting principles and techniques.
• Very good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products. Knowledge of Access Dimensions is desirable.
• A strong team player providing assistance and support to colleagues when required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Very good attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing environment with the ability to be proactive and bring new ideas and enthusiasm to the department as the group continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• The Role: Based in the Central Office in Peterborough and reporting to a Management Accountant Team Leader, this role is responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts for a number of schools within the group. Working closely with the Finance Business Partners, staff across the schools and other Central Office functions this is a pivotal role in providing schools with good quality financial information to empower them in decision making. This role also encompasses assisting with the schools’ budgets and forecasts preparation and supporting the wider finance team as required.
