Job summary

MacKenzie King in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role offers a broad remit across financial reporting, commercial analysis, team leadership and business support.

This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing decision-making and helping to drive business performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance position.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and accounting systems.
• Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Deliver variance analysis and performance reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Oversee payroll and timesheet processes.
• Support and mentor members of the finance team.
• Drive improvements to financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
• Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Manage VAT returns, including CIS requirements.
• Support audit processes and liaise with external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
