The Role

Provide specialist knowledge, expertise, advice and information to all levels of management in respect of financial matters thus enabling them to achieve economic and efficient use of resources.

Play an active role in the planning, development and maintenance of the Division's financial governance systems ensuring sound systems of financial control.

What we'll need you to bring

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise across one or more specialised areas including management; advises finance and non-finance managers on matters relating to their own area, providing detailed advice and guidance, acquired through studying towards Professional Accountancy Qualifications - postgraduate Diploma Level or equivalent experience

Skills

  • Practical experience in the utilisation of modern financial software is essential.
  • Experience of financial analysis and modelling and detailed understanding of accounting procedures with sound analytical and good reporting skills.
  • Advanced IT skills.
  • Experience of budgeting, budgetary control and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Contract type

Fixed Term for 6 Months

Part Time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 Months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Management Accounts within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters
