Job summary

AB Agri in Peterborough is seeking a Management Accountant to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver robust management reporting across D2F channels, support month-end processes and strengthen financial controls.

The role requires part-qualified or newly qualified accountants (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent), strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems like AX, Sage or Xero. You will work with stakeholders across the business to provide insight and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience in management accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and large data handling.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder communication.
• Experience using AX, Sage, Xero or similar ERP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely management reports across D2F sales channels and product lines.
• Post and review journals, including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust financial data.
• Support month-end and year-end processes with timely reporting.
• Monitor compliance with Financial Controls Framework and governance.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial returns.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and respond to ad hoc requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive digital reporting (Power BI).
