Job summary

James Andrews Recruitment is partnering with an established performing arts education organisation to recruit a Management Accountant to join their Finance team on a permanent, full-time hybrid basis in Surrey. The role offers two days per week at home and a salary of around £50,000 per annum, with responsibilities across management accounts, budgeting, cash flow, year-end, and staff oversight.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, highlighting trends and variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the organisation.
• Explain financial performance to budget holders and senior stakeholders for decision-making.
• Manage month-end activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Support year-end accounts, external audits and VAT compliance.
• Oversee a Finance Officer and Payroll Officer.

Job description

We're currently working with an established organisation in the Performing Arts education-sector who are looking for a Management Accountant to join their Finance team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in Surrey, with two days per week home working and a salary of circa £50,000.00 per annum.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across all areas of finance, partnering with managers and senior stakeholders, and helping the organisation make informed financial decisions. Looking to interview suitable candidates as soon as possible!

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports, highlighting key trends and variances
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the organisation
• Working closely with budget holders and senior stakeholders to explain financial performance and support decision-making
• Managing month-end activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting year-end accounts, external audits and VAT compliance
• Overseeing both a Finance Officer and Payroll Officer

Experience required:

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong analytical skills and good commercial awareness
• Confident communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines

Qualifications & desirable experience:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
• Experience within the education sector would be advantageous
• Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems specifically Sage 200

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 with an hour lunch
• Working from home two days per week
