Job description

Job Title: Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £45,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Walsall - Hybrid – 3dpw typical in the office


Join their dynamic and forward-thinking finance team and unleash your potential with this exceptional opportunity in a growing business. They are looking to add to their finance team and are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to look after all reporting requirements for their Business Unit. This role will suit part or newly qualified candidates looking for an all-round Management Accounting opportunity.


The Role:
  1. Preparation of month end management accounts for a Business Unit, to include:
  2. Calculation of accruals and prepayments
  3. Journal posting in Oracle
  4. Preparation of the monthly P&L position
  5. Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  6. Analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, providing commentary on key variances.
  7. Preparation of financial performance by product, region and customer.
  8. Review of monthly results with the Senior Finance Manager for the Business Unit.
  9. Ad hoc finance administration related to the Business Unit.
  10. Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecast for the Business Unit.
  11. Ongoing review of financial processes and controls, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  12. First point of contact for accounting queries relating to the Business Unit.
  13. Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with ad hoc requests for information where required.
  14. Cross skilling with other Management Accountant roles so cover can be provided as required.

What you’ll need:
  1. CCAB Part or Newly Qualified
  2. Enthusiasm and a desire to continue your studies towards a professional qualification
  3. Strong excel skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  4. Familiarity with computer-based finance packages (Oracle or Xero experience would be beneficial but not essential).
  5. Speed and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  6. Team player mindset and excellent communication skills.
  7. Flexible working attitude.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
