An established and growing insurance company based near Leeds is seeking a talented Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive qualified accountant looking to add value in a dynamic business while enjoying a flexible hybrid working model.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will take ownership of key financial processes and support strategic decision-making through high-quality reporting and analysis. The role also includes line management of one direct report.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and presenting income statements and board reports.
• Delivering insightful variance analysis and commentary to support business performance.
• Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Working closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight.
• Developing and streamlining reporting processes with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Using advanced Excel and IT skills to analyse data and improve reporting tools.
• Managing and mentoring one team member.

The Candidate

The ideal applicant will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with strong management accounting experience. They will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, an ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders, and a track record of working in a fast-paced environment. Experience within insurance or financial services is advantageous but not essential.
