Job summary

Telent Technology Services Ltd. is seeking a Management Accountant for our Warwick HQ, with hybrid working and weekly on-site presence.

You will analyse and forecast financial performance across our Transport unit, including highways, rail and asset management projects, reporting to the Finance Business Partner and senior finance community. You will drive forecast accuracy, collaborate with project managers, and develop insightful reports covering cash, P&L and balance sheet.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified with relevant finance certifications.
• Experience in a business-facing finance role.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Oracle/SAP).

Responsibilities

• Provide clear analysis and reporting of results for projects or central functions (actual and forecast).
• Assist senior finance team to drive actions to ensure forecasts are achieved.
• Collaborate with senior finance team/project manager to enable informed business decisions.
• Develop forecasts for the business area and report progress across cash, P&L and balance sheet.
• Prepare historic analyses by project and cost centre (month-end results, KPIs, comparisons).
• Manage any direct reports and ensure contracts reported accurately.

Reporting into the Finance Business Partner, the Management Accountant will work closely with the business and senior finance community to assist with the development of financial forecasts across our Transport Business Unit. You will be working on a number of exciting projects across our Highways, Rail and Asset Management divisions.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in the Warwick HQ on a weekly basis.

What you’ll do

• Ensuring clear and concise analysis and reporting of the results for the responsible project, projects or central functions (actual and forecast).
• Assisting senior finance team to drive actions to ensure forecasts are achieved.
• Working in collaboration with the senior finance team/project manager and/or central function, providing clear and concise analysis as required to enable the business to make effective decisions.
• Assist with the development of forecasts for the business area, measure & report on progress (across cash, P&L and balance sheet).
• Preparation of accurate and meaningful historic analysis by project and cost centre (month end results, KPI’s, comparison of actuals to forecasts/budget across Cash, P&L and BS).
• Management of any direct reports.
• Ensure contract reviews conducted for projects within your responsibility - working with the operations team to ensure contracts accurately reported, assisting with the scrutinising of financial results and challenging the business.

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA part qualified.
• Previous experience of working in a business facing finance role.
• Good communication skills.
• Use of Oracle, SAP or other large ERP system.
• Good working knowledge of Excel.
