Job Title: Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £45,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Walsall - Hybrid - 3 days per week typically in the office

Join their dynamic and forward-thinking finance team and unleash your potential with this exceptional opportunity in a growing business. They are looking to add to their finance team and are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to oversee all reporting requirements for their Business Unit.

This role will suit part-qualified or newly qualified candidates seeking an all-round Management Accounting opportunity.

The Role:
  1. Preparation of month-end management accounts for a Business Unit, including:
  • Calculation of accruals and prepayments
  • Journal posting in Oracle
  • Preparation of the monthly P&L
  • Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, with commentary on key variances
  • Preparation of financial performance reports by product, region, and customer
  • Review of monthly results with the Senior Finance Manager
  • Ad hoc finance administration related to the Business Unit
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with the annual budget and quarterly reforecast
  • Review of financial processes and controls, with recommendations for improvements
  • Acting as the first point of contact for accounting queries related to the Business Unit
  • Supporting ad hoc requests for information
  • Cross-skilling with other Management Accountant roles for coverage as needed
  • Supporting the team with ongoing financial process improvements
  • What you'll need:
    • CCAB Part-qualified or Newly Qualified
    • Enthusiasm and a desire to continue studies towards a professional qualification
    • Strong Excel skills with meticulous attention to detail
    • Familiarity with computer-based finance packages (Oracle or Xero experience beneficial but not essential)
    • Speed and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, meeting tight deadlines
    • Team player mindset and excellent communication skills
    • Flexible working attitude
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
