Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by our long-standing client, a well-established and highly successful business based in Wadebridge. Following a sustained period of growth, the company is entering an exciting phase of positive change, which includes the expansion of their finance function.

We have been tasked with sourcing an experienced Part-Time Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires a minimum of three set days per week – Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Some flexibility around start and finish times may be considered, but these core days are essential.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of a small but growing finance team, you will take ownership of the maintenance and production of accounts and financial information, while also supporting the team with a variety of day-to-day finance tasks.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and presenting financial reports
  • Assisting with annual accounts and year-end audits
  • Managing bank reconciliations, postings, and daily bank receipts
  • Processing monthly payroll, petty cash, and journal entries
  • Preparing yearly budgets and quarterly VAT returns
  • Producing debtor and creditor reports and reconciling accounts
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers in Sage Line 50
  • Creating and issuing accurate invoices, and maintaining financial records
  • Supporting project costing and analysis, including timesheet input
  • Responding to supplier, customer, and client queries
  • Booking hotels and recording site team expenses
  • Assisting with other finance and administrative tasks as required

This role would suit a qualified or part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant or an AAT-qualified individual with experience in a busy finance team. It could be an excellent step up for an Assistant Management Accountant or an ideal opportunity for an Assistant Accountant seeking a new challenge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, growing business during a pivotal time of expansion. The company offers a supportive team environment and the chance to play a key role in shaping their finance function.

If you’re looking for a varied and rewarding part-time role with a progressive employer, we’d love to hear from you.
