Management Accountant
Main purpose of the job
Responsible for supporting the Plant Financial Manager in controlling plant costs and internal controls, ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting requirements.
Main missions and results
- Support the finance team to ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, including analysis of deviations from budgets and forecasts. Responsibilities include preparing journals for overhead accruals and prepayments, processing intercompany journals, analyzing fixed assets and preparing depreciation journals, and reviewing overheads.
- Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet by producing reconciliations in line with corporate deadlines.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring proper processing of additions and disposals.
- Assist with weekly cash flow reporting, including actualization of recent weeks and future forecasts.
- Support reconciliation of site overtime with Operations and HR departments.
- Assist in preparing forecast data.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve queries, monitor overdues, and manage GRNI balances.
- Review open purchase orders regularly with departmental managers.
- Work with the Quality department to analyze warranty and quality debit notes and containment costs when applicable.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain department to analyze freight costs and accruals.
- Support ad hoc analysis and project activities.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Preferred skills and experience
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA).
- Proven accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience liaising with external auditors.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach with a flexible and adaptable mindset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with System21 ERP.
- High proficiency in Excel.
What you'll get
A competitive salary plus holiday pay. Working hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays. Training will be provided, and there is opportunity for growth within our expanding site. The role requires presence in the office five days a week.
