We are looking for a Management Accountant to join us at Huws Gray Llangefni!

Hybrid working is available - to be discussed at interview stage.

If you're in the trade or have ever done DIY, you've probably heard of the Huws Gray Group! We are made up of a number of brands, including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI and Anglia Tool Centre to name a few. Up and down the UK, our branches and depots are serving and supporting our local communities with all their building needs, but we couldn't do this without the right people, so why not join us?

We rely on our Management Accountants for the preparation, development and improvement of financial and management reporting across the business. Working in one of our Central Support functions, you'll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant service and to get the job done.

Here's a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as a Management Accountant with Huws Gray:

  • Allocation of costs across multiple divisions and branches to ensure accurate cost centre income/charges
  • Maintain rigorous and robust balance sheet control reconciliations
  • Preparation and processing of monthly journals (inc prepayments, accruals, stock and margin)
  • Supporting the wider Finance team and the operations of the business - collaborating to ensure that financial information is accurate and complete
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounts records and spreadsheets
  • Assist with financial queries from both within and outside the finance team
  • Complete variance analysis on financial performance of costs against budget, prior year etc and provide regular updates to management
  • Identify and recommend areas for continuous development
  • Ownership of overhead costs including monthly meetings with budget holders to review the charges for completeness and accuracy
  • Other duties as required
We understand you are more than just a CV, embracing everyone's individuality is what makes us great as a team. We can give you plenty of training and development. However, it would be great if you had the following:
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of data
  • Experience working in a large multi-site organisation
  • Qualified accountant (Part qualified would be considered)
  • Self-starter who can work under own initiative
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good planning and organisation skills: able to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
We know you're thinking 'this sounds great, but what's in it for me?' Let us tell you:
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • 24 days annual leave in addition to recognised public and bank holidays
  • Company attendance and performance bonuses
  • Company pension scheme - in line with auto enrolment
  • Death In Service
  • Career progression and personal development opportunities
  • Being part of a "team" as opposed to just being a number
  • Staff discounts on items purchased from any of our nationwide locations
