Management Accountant

Reporting To: Finance Business Partner

Description

The Management Accountant will report to the Finance Business Partner and manage the day-to-day finance function, ensuring close alignment with operations. They will prepare monthly divisional management accounts for the Toomebridge site and ensure all internal control requirements for Enva Northern Ireland Ltd are observed. From time to time, assistance will be required in tasks and projects across other NI divisions and Waste Streams.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly divisional P&L accounts.
  • Maintain general ledger and perform cost analysis.
  • Complete monthly intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee monthly stock control and reconciliations.
  • Manage key supplier operational and financial reconciliations.
  • Maintain and manage purchase orders.
  • Oversee Fixed Asset Register and CAPEX approval processes.
  • Manage weekly cash flow and forecasting.
  • Produce weekly/monthly KPI reporting.
  • Conduct weekly aged debtor reviews and liaise with credit control.
  • Prepare monthly Intrastat returns.
  • Complete monthly Carbon reporting.
  • Prepare client progress reports as required.
  • Lead weekly internal control meetings.
  • Review and improve finance processes to meet business requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Provide support and direction to the site-based team.
  • Ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the manager or management team.

This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the requirements of this role.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified by experience in a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proactive problem-solving and strong communication skills. Team player with ability to foster collaboration.
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn about operational side of the business. Self-starter, with ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance or management accounting role.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and sit for extended periods. Competence in using a computer for long periods, with a high degree of focus on data analysis.
  • Ability to attend and participate in meetings across different departments or locations.
Desirable
  • Further professional progression towards full ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence reporting tools.
  • Evidence of driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in Recycling and Waste Management industry.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet end on month deadlines.
